A public space reorganisation project in Joniškėlis was prepared and implemented. In view of the problems concerning the territory, it was decided to renovate the city’s park by transforming this location into a centre of attraction for tourists and residents.
An estrade (stage) of unique form and design was integrated in the delicate natural environment. The entire park was cleared of low-value shrubs and trees, the pond was ameliorated by slightly adjusting its shoreline. The territory was equipped with new basketball and volleyball courts and a children’s playground. Spaces for commercial and food stalls during events and fairs have been envisaged. The park was designed for comfortable and safe use by pedestrians with walking paths, benches and lighting.
